Have you ever had to spend a night without a bed?

If you’re lucky, the answer is no. But, for many families right here in Spokane, they will go to sleep tonight on a park bench, the back seat of their car or even hidden in an abandoned house. There are over 3,108 school aged children and their families right here in Spokane that don't have a place to call home (2019). With the consequences of the pandemic upon us, not only is help needed now, but many families will need help in the months and years to come.

That's why, with your help, Family Promise of Spokane is dreaming big and inviting you to join us.  On Saturday, August 29, Family Promise is holding our first Night Without a Bed SleepOut. We're challenging you and your family to spend one night without your bed and spread the word about family homelessness in Spokane

What Is Night Without a Bed?

This month long experience, culminating in the Night Without A Bed SleepOut, is an awareness campaign to bring attention to the experience of the 3,108 K-12th grade kids and their families who experience homelessness each year in our community.

How do I participate?

On August 29, sleep anywhere without a bed: cars, a tent, a treehouse, your living room floor, a couch and use the hashtag #NightWithoutABed to post a video or a photo on social media.

In addition to posting on social media, we ask you to challenge a friend to complete #NightWithoutABed or make a donation to Family Promise. For every $2,450 raised, an entire family receives everything needed to break the cycle of homelessness and move into a stable home and healthy life!
