The History of Fishing for Families
In 2017, Ryan and Kara Rowe decided to partner two of their passions: fishing and advocacy for homeless families. At first, Ryan committed to spending one minute on the lake fishing for every homeless child in Spokane county; the first year, he spent almost 4 days in a boat! Together with his team, this crew has withstood nearly all elements of Spokane County weather, but they're back at it for a 3rd year, ready to raise $24,500 to move 10 families from homeless to housed.
Join our Fishing Contest!
Compete in an age division to catch the most fish of a specific type and submit photos of your catch here. On September 19th, we will draw the winners at random out of those who have submitted pictures of their fish!

What does Fishing for Families look like today?
Fishing for Families is a fundraiser to support Family Promise of Spokane through the love of the outdoors and fishing at the beautiful Silver Lake. The 8-hour LIVE telethon-style Facebook event will feature fishing experts, enthusiasts, partners and Family Promise representatives on the water throughout the day. RSVP to the event and we'll make sure you don't miss it!
