Give Hope with a Year-End Gift

The ripple effects of COVID-19, lack of accessible childcare and, most significantly, the shortage of affordable housing have forced many families to face homelessness. It’s been impossible to help all the families in need in our community, with the current space available.

Family Promise of Spokane staff have seen a 1,200% increase in rental assistance requests compared to 2020. We’ve increased shelter capacity by 40%. And still, in August 2021 alone, 156 family members (including 81 kids) were turned away from Family Promise shelters because there wasn’t any available shelter space.

While "Sophia" is a composite character, the challenges in her letter are very real and are being faced by kids and families every day in our community.

This winter, you can ensure that kids and their parents aren’t turned away into the cold. Your gift of:

  • $49 comforts a homeless child and parent with a night of rest

  • $171 gives a warm place and safe night of sleep to an entire family

  • $2,450 ends homelessness for an entire family

Please consider making an investment in the future of kids like Sophia and their families today.
